Today I introduced a couple of friends to the Colonel Towers Area. Jeff and Eishi sure had a blast on the wonderful limestone at the Colonel. As I have said before, the Colonel a great area for year round climbing. The sun is blocked by trees in the summer time, making many shady patches for relaxing in between crushing. During the winter, the leaves fall off of the indigenous trees and makes a cold morning very climbable due to the direct sunlight.
I took Gavin along to hang out in the shade and enjoy the out-of-doors, and boy did he. I made a pallet for him in the shade, then lathered him in sunblock. I turned around to put the sunblock away and turned back to a baby covered head to toe with dirt and leaves! I have no idea how this happened. He laughed and smiled at me. If there was ever a doubt that he is son, this surely put a screeching halt to those ideas! He is like his mother in so many ways, but when you least expect it, BAM! He turns out to be just like me, mouth full of leaves and smiling.
Looks like tomorrow we are going to the climbing gym when Star finishes with work. Then it is yoga on Saturday and Mizugaki on Monday. Many be even some multi-pitch on Thursday!
Go Climb Something!!!!
