Our weather has been dismal lately. On the rare days the sun does shine its been too humid to climb. The upside to poor conditions is more time to visit the sights in and around Fussa. I have also been training more. I have been hitting up both the climbing gym and the base gym, pushing my power endurance. In the gym I have been focusing on total body exercises and isolating muscles that I neglect in my climbing workouts. I have been trying to stretch more and focus on improving my technical movements. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will be able to test the benefits of my efforts.
A couple of days ago, I went back up to Mount Mitake with some friends. I’d been there this past winter, so I was interested to see what summer on the mountain looked like. Turns out it looks about the same. One difference is that I have upgraded my camera so I think the photos turned out better this time around. The hiking trail is positioned such that you are above many of the houses and temples which offered ample opportunity to get roof shots. This was a new view for me and I took advantage of it by snapping off a few decent pictures. I hope you enjoy the photos.
