Mizugaki Climbing Shoot

Team G originally planned to spend this past Friday through Monday at Mizugaki, but the weather and Gavin had other plans. We arrived Friday night and set up camp sans headlamps. The moon was very bright which gave everything around us a very beautiful light. We arranged the car for camping, popped a bottle of wine out Gavin to bed, and relaxed.

The next day Gavin woke up at 5am and was ready for his day. Star and I on the other hand were not showing as much exuberance. We reluctantly got up to make coffee and chill in the cool morning air. It was four hours before we were supposed to meet Yuji for the shoot. After several hours of chatting and hanging at “camp” we met up with the rest of the crew and headed for the crag. Yuji has many projects but one is at Mizugaki. We hiked up to his secluded area and set up a base camp for the gang.

About an hour later Gavin started to get sick. He threw up and was very cranky. We would wind up heading home two days early, but it was the best for Gavin. It turns out that the G-man has an ear infection and will have to take it easy for the time being. I am planning on climbing next week, three more shoots in the works, and I am heading to Tokyo for a few days next week. Then it is off to California Sept 1 and Hawaii in October. Many things happening in the next few months!!!

This shoot is a part of a larger project, so sorry for the lack of action shoots. I hope these will suffice for the time being.
