It is hot in Japan right now. Everyday this past week while we were visiting downtown Tokyo, the highs reached the upper 90’s. Of course Gavin was still a bit sick so we ventured indoor for some relief. We went to a photography museum, a beer museum, and an aquarium. I think everyone else in Tokyo had the same idea of escaping the heat. It was very crowded everywhere we visited.
We stayed at the New Sanno Hotel in Hiroo and took the train everywhere each morning. Each night we went to a great craft bar in Ikebukuro called Vivo! and relaxed with a few pints. Star really was in need of some rest and relaxation after 6 weeks of call.
I love just walking around Tokyo and finding small shops and great places to eat. We stumbled upon a great Indian restaurant in Ikebukuro named Saffron. All I am going to mention about our experiance there is that the garlic naan was spectacular.
We are back home now. I have a guiding trip this Sunday, but I am not sure if the weather will cooperate. I sure hope it does. I went to Base Camp tonight and pumped myself silly. I did talk to Yuji and we are on for some more shooting next week. He is working a new project at Mizugaki in the 5.14b or c range. He says it is tough. It sure looks like it.
Enjoy a these pictures from our scorching trip and I hope to share some more stories and photos with you soon.
