North Face Cup

As most of you know Daniel Woods is visiting Japan for the North Face Cup. The Cup is a bouldering competition that has brought top Japanese climbers from all over Japan to the final at Yuji Hirayama’s climbing gym, Base Camp. The finals took place over the last two days and ended with an exciting session in the open category.

Most notable in the open event is Akiyo Noguchi who took second in the women’s and Daniel Woods who came out on top in the men’s final. Both the men’s and women’s open came down to a tie breaker. After the event Daniel said the he wanted to thank everyone at the event and at North Face for coming out and supporting this great event. He added that he was looking forward to coming back next year and competing again.

For the rest of Daniel’s trip in Japan he will be touring, weather permitting, bouldering areas around Tokyo. More to come on this soon. I will have a longer post with more pics and info from the Cup soon as well.
