Spring in Japan is a wonderful time of the year. Not only does it mean that climbing season is starting again, but that it is plum and cherry blossom season too. March is when the plum blossoms start to pop and the first week of April is usually when the cherry blossoms start to strut their stuff. This year is no exception. In the foothills at the mouth of the Mitake valley is a wonderful manciple park called Yoshino-Baigou Park. The park is absolutely beautiful and warrants a visit from anyone in the area this time of the year.
I would be remiss if I did not say that these pictures were taken a week early, but I will be in the US next week so they will have to do for now. Next week the entire park will be encompassed with breath taking blossoms and swarms of visitors waiting in queues for their turn to see what has become an international event.
