Last month Marmot athlete Paige Claassen and Jon Glassburg were visiting Japan, part of a year-long trip around the world. They started a non-profit called Lead Now which they hope will help create more awareness in local communities to “enable women and children to sustain their own communities while solving diverse social problems” through climbing. So far they have raised a significant amount of money for specific, pre-determined organizations in the countries that they are visiting while on their adventure.
I was fortunate enough to meet up and show these guys around a bit while they spent a month here in Japan. There is a short video out soon about their experience, but I wanted to give them a shout out in advance.
On the trip here, we travelled to Mizugaki, Shosenkyu and Jogasaki. They were most impressed with the rock quality an quantity in Shosenkyu, so that’s where we spent most of our time. Look for the video out soon with all the action and shenanigans. For now enjoy a short gallery from the trip.
Go Climb Something!!!
